SERVICES

What services do you offer?

Envelope addressing, place cards & escort cards, along with other paper goods. I am currently scaling back offerings due to other commitments & the pandemic, so am not offering custom signage at this time. View services & starting prices HERE.

 

Can I see samples of your work?

Sure – you can check out my online portfolio HERE. I’m also quite active on social media & regular post updates of my current work on Facebook and Instagram.  If you’d like to see samples of my envelope calligraphy, please contact me & I can provide you pricing for mailing a sample pack. 

 

What styles of calligraphy & lettering do you offer?

I offer several different modern calligraphy styles – you can view style options HERE.

 

Can you write on something other than paper?

Yes! Acrylic, tiles, wood, shells, mirrors – the options are endless!

Can I use your calligraphy in my invitation suite?

Yes – this is called “spot calligraphy.” I can provide digital files of selected calligraphed words (i.e. your names, venue, date, etc.) to you and/or your stationer to incorporate into your invitation suite for printing. I can also provide digital files for full calligraphy invitations and return addresses.

 

Do you provide full invitation design and printing?

No, not at this time.

 

Do you charge extra for different colored inks?

Nope – I do not charge additional fees for colors other than black, including white or metallic inks. However, if you are requesting a custom mixed shade to perfectly match the colors on your invitations, there may be an additional fee.

 

Can you help with envelope addressing etiquette?

Yes, I’m glad to answer any questions you may have.  Crane’s Blue Book of Stationery is also a great resource - I have a copy and reference it often!

 

Do you offer signage rentals?

No - I am not currently offering rentals or custom signage.


Can I provide my own sign, mirror, piece of wood, etc.?

I am not currently offering signage.

Can I send you inspiration pictures?

Yes - please feel free to send me (jennifer@millercalligraphy.com) any inspiration photos you've found or specific pictures of my work that you'd like me to keep in mind when working on your signs. Although I can’t replicate anyone’s work, this will help me to understand the style, size & layout you are looking for.

 
LOGISTICS

How do I book your services?

Please inquire HERE. We’ll discuss your event & requested pieces. Pending my availability and your approval of an estimate, I’ll prepare and send over a contract for you to sign.  

Can I book your services before I know exactly what I want?

Yes! I realize many of the specific details may not be worked out until closer to your event – however, contacting me well in advance will insure that you have a spot on my schedule and helps you to avoid rush fees later. A $100 retainer is required and will count towards your final payment.

Can you provide calligraphy services to clients outside of the central Virginia area?

Yes – I’m always happy to ship items! However, due to the challenges & high costs of shipping, I currently only provide large signage to local clients for pick up.

 

How to I get my envelopes, place cards, signage or other materials to you?

If you have booked my calligraphy services, you can either arrange to drop them off in Richmond, Virginia or have them shipped directly to me. 

 

How do I get my completed pieces?

We can arrange a pick-up in the Richmond, Virginia area or I can ship them to you via UPS, FedEx or USPS at your cost.

 

Do I need to include extra envelopes or place cards?

Yes! I require 20% extra for materials! Errors are inevitable with hand-written work and will also account for late additions or changes to your guest list.

 

How long does it take for you to calligraphy and or letter my pieces?

Generally, envelope orders require 2-3 weeks with place cards/signage requiring 1-2 weeks. More time may be required depending on the quantity & extent of your order.

 

What if I need calligraphy in a rush?

Depending on availability, I may be able to accommodate your order. A 50% rush fee will apply to envelope & paper good orders with less than 2 weeks and signage with less than 1 week to the event. 

 

PAYMENT

 

Do you require a deposit?

For orders with estimates greater than $100, I do require a retainer to hold your place on my schedule.

 

How does payment work?

I’ll send an electronic invoice to your email for payment by credit card. Full payment is due prior to pick-up or shipping of your orders.

 

MISCELLANEOUS 

 

I’m also a wedding vendor – would you like to collaborate?

Yes – I love working with other industry professionals & participating in creative styled shoots!

 

Do you teach calligraphy workshops?

Not at this time!
